Our Cat Missing of 2.5 Years Has Returned!
When I first bought my house and moved in, a couple of movers left the door open and out ran our three cats. One returned, the other two we could not find. Countless tears from my kids, we truly searched for those cats. One was declawed and older, I was sick over this. A few months pass and we caught glimpses of the one but he would never come to us, we later learned that an elderly woman was feeding him and had renamed him. I felt horrid, on one hand I wanted my cat back, on another I did not want to crush this elderly woman’s heart by taking back my beautiful blue eyed baby who we named Jerry, after Jerry Garcia. I figured we would keep trying to call him back over, and if he came we would keep him but if he took loyalty to them, then it was God’s way of telling me she needed Jerry more than we did. My heart was broken.

Before She Went Missing

Before she went missing, nice big, healthy and happy!
But all that did not account to the whereabouts of Tabby, my older cat who was starting to lose her teeth and was declawed (we got her this way). We asked around, no one admitted to seeing her or knowing anything about her. A year passes my daughter see’s her through the yard and gives chase, only to have the same woman, mentioned above, husband flip out and scream at her not to come into their yard. Okay, being my daughter is timid, she got out of his yard, but not before trying to explain to him she was only going after our cat who ran away, etc. (This cat is micro-chipped btw and registered to me)
He basically scares her off and she comes running back to me, upset and crying that she felt that would have been there only chance to get Tabby back, but the “mean old man” would not let her cross his yard.
Fast forward now another year to year and a half to today, Tabby was on their front porch!!!! My daughter is now 17 a bit more comfortable in her own skin. So she walks up and tells the guy that is our cat who ran away, can we please have her. We have been sick with worry about her. He tells her yes, because they can no longer take care of her. While I am happy to have her back home, she is an absolute mess and they had been keeping her in there “Shed”. Yes, a shed!!!

After she came back to us.

She weighs roughly 5lbs. She is just skin and bones and her fur is not vibrant at all.
She came back to us, very skinny, no teeth at all, and her fur is very lack luster, what was once a beautiful grey and white, is now a yellowing white and a much muted lack luster grey. It breaks my heart, but she will get back on track under her mama’s love and care.

wow! that’s so crazy how people can take other people’s animals and claim them as their own!! thankfully, they gave her back and you can nurse her back to health!
That is terrible! I am a cat lover, so this just breaks my heart. I’m crying right now. How…awful. There are no words to describe those people. Only horrible, evil, weirdos. I hope your kitty gets better! :’(
Thank you ladies! I gave her a bath today, I actually climbed in with her with a white sweatshirt on, not thinking, and it was red and black by the time I was done. The water was disgusting, she has fleas something fierce, so I used dawn dish soap on her, as I am afraid right at the moment to use anything harsher on her because she is so thin and just unhealthy looking at the moment. I have never seen bath water turn such a color
Broke my heart, but she will be returned to good health in our care. She once was a very happy healthy cat, and will return to that.
